Jeffery Hoffman Baker City, 1963-2012 Jeffery Wayne Hoffman 48, of Baker City, died Sept. 11, 2012, at his home. His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Coles Tribute Center, 1950 Place St. Pastor Ed Stoaks will officiate. Jeffery was born on Sept. 30, 1963, at Springfield to Henry J. and Ervina J. Wilson Hoffman. He was raised at Portland until he was 12. The family then moved to Union, where Jerry attended school. He entered the Job Corps and in 1982 moved to Florida working in the stucco and masonry business. He returned to Baker City where he worked for Tasty Bake for several years before moving to Wyoming to work in the oil fields. He returned to Baker City in May of 2011. Jeffery’s favorite pastimes were fishing, four-wheeling and fixing up cars. Spending time with his family was his biggest enjoyment. “If you needed help with anything, Jeffery was always there to help you no matter what,” family members said. Survivors include his daughter, Christine Hallett; his mother, Ervina Hoffman of Baker City; his brother, Charles Hoffman of Baker City; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis E. and Kathy Hoffman of Baker City, and brother and sister-in-law, John and Lynda Hoffman of Big Piney, Wyo.; sister, Leila Baggerly of Baker City; sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Harold Haynes of Baker City; uncles and aunts, Eugene and Natalie Hoffman, Edward and Pat Hoffman, Melvin and Vi Hoffman and Larry and Helen Hoffman; aunts and uncles, Mae and George Sidley, Marjorie and Marvin Cunningham, Marian and Ken Greveir, Carolyn and LaVern Carlton, Lanette and Bob Theroux, Shirley Taylor, Sharron and Boyd Abels and Cathy and Jack Kelly; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry J. Hoffman. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through Coles Tribute Center, 1950 Place St., Baker City, OR 97814.
