Darcy Lynn Mehl, born May 5, 1964 in Medford, Ore., passed away peacefully at the age of 50 surrounded by family at her home in Baker City on August 12, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held on August 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Nazarene Church in Baker City, with a celebration of life to immediately follow at the Eagles Lodge in Baker City.
Darcy was the youngest of three children by Ronald and Marilyn Borello. Darcy wed in her teens and had three children: Kristina, Alicia and Jeremy. On August 28, 1999 Darcy married Rodney Mehl, the greatest love of her life. The couple called Baker City their home. She was employed by Marvin Wood Product for 24 years. The two love birds could be found in the "Old Ford" enjoying each other’s company during their lunch breaks.
Darcy loved the summer months, you could always find her working in the yard or garden, fishing at Balm Creek Reservoir or attending an annual camping trip with family in Central Oregon.
When not outdoors, Darcy enjoyed interior design. She had a gift and passion for home décor, whether it was her own home, rental property or that of her children.
Darcy was especially fond of the Christmas season. The house was filled with friends and family, Christmas music, gifts, multiple themed Christmas trees and enough food to feed an army. Darcy enjoyed her tradition of baking and decorating Christmas goodies with the grandkids.
Darcy was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was bright-eyed with a beautiful smile and heart known to do for others, before herself. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was an avid member of the following: Ducks Unlimited, National Turkey Federation and Oregon Hunters Association and always enjoyed the annual banquets.
Darcy is survived by her loving husband Rodney Mehl; children, Mike and Kristina Spitz of Redmond, Ore., Douglass and Alicia Hills of Baker City, and Jeremy and Angela Hawkins of Caldwell, Idaho. Grandchildren, Chad Spitz, Alena and Kyra Hills and Bella Peralta-Hawkins; siblings, Ronnie Borello and Debbie Bashans-Borello. Father, Ronald and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Marilyn Borello and grandmother Helen Borello.
