Dolores Evelyn Gilmore, 81, of La Grande passed away at Grande Ronde Hospital on Sunday, August 24, 2014. A Celebration of Life will be held at the La Grande American Legion on Saturday, August 30, 4-6 p.m.
Dolores was born December 10, 1932 in Baker City, Ore., to Eugene and Frances (Love) Perkins. She spent her childhood years in Baker City and graduated from Baker City High School. She then attended Eastern Oregon College in La Grande. She married Everett Gilmore.
Dolores was employed at Connie’s, Don & Larry’s Distributors, Airport, and the American Legion. She played on pool and dart leagues for the American Legion for many years. She also enjoyed bowling. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and the Elks Lodge. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith; 2 grandchildren, Darcie Pope and her husband Lance, and Aaron Smith and his wife Crystal; 4 great grandchildren, Zachery, Jolie, Brentyn, and Kenneth Smith; 4 nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Frances; brother, Eugene Perkins Jr.; husband, Everett and companion Richard Hewitt.
