Janet Marie (Jan) Hardesty, 77, of Baker City died on August 24, 2014 while at her residence. Memorial services for Janet will be announced at a later date.
Janet was born on December 29, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minn., to William S. Peare and Margaret H. Pearson Peare. After leaving high school where she finished the eleventh grade, Janet decided she wanted to do secretarial work
and accomplished her goal for a number of years.
In 1953, Janet married John Busse and had a good sized family with him. From this marriage, they had Kathryn, Matt, Shari, Tim and Troy Busse. John and Janet divorced in 1963. On March 1, 1986 Janet married Lorne Hardesty while
they were in Sacramento, Calif. Lorne passed away in June 2002.
Jan loved to bowl, play shuffleboard and horseback riding. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge in Baker City.
She is survived by her children:Kathryn Saba and husband Tim, of Wyoming, Minn.; Matt Busse of Woodward, Okla.; Shari Busse of Ankeny, Iowa; Tim Busse and wife Carol of Buffalo, Minn.; Troy Busse of Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Jeraldine Wagner and her husband Joe of Lakeville, Minn., and sister-n-law Pat Peare of Richfield, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lorne Hardesty, her twin sister Judy Peare, a brother Jim Pearson, and her parents, William and Margaret Peare.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Eagles Lodge in Baker City through Gray's West & Company, 1500 Dewey Ave., Baker City, Ore., 97814.
