MOSELEY, Carol

(Maiden Name: Gross)

Carol Moseley died on May 1, 2014. The family gathered on Sunday, August 3, 2014 for a Memorial Service ~ Celebration of Carol's Life at Pine Haven Cemetery where she was interred with her husband Dave. Carol Moseley was born February 12, 1936 in Halfway, Oregon. Carol was the first of two children born to Clifford and Marjorie Gross. Carol lived in Halfway until graduating from high school in 1954. She then left and moved to Portland, Oregon, where she went to secretarial school. After graduating, she worked as secretary until July 25, 1964, when she married a longtime friend and ex-Halfway resident, Dave Moseley, who was living in Portland at the time. They made their home in Portland, and at this time she gave up her job and became a housewife. They would come back to Halfway each year for Christmas. Carol liked to play the piano and the organ until “Mr. Arthur” took over her hands. She was a good cook and did a lot of canning. She and Dave did some traveling in Oregon, Washington and Idaho. She was a great Prayer Warrior and worked in her home church. She would do a lot of calling to people who were shut in and those who were sick. On March 1, 2001 her husband of almost 37 years died of a heart attack at their home. By the grace of God she was able to carry on and put her life together with God taking the place of her husband. She always had a smile for anyone she met .There were times that she could be bullheaded, but if you could make it sound like it was her idea she would agree. The last of September and the first part of October 2002 Carol, her cousin, Tom, and a friend, Lona, made a trip to the East Coast. This is a trip she had always wanted to do. In June of 2008 after a long illness she moved back to Halfway to live with her brother and his wife. In March of 2014 she moved in to Angel Wings Adult Care in Baker City. In April 2014 she had a stroke and on May 1, 2014 our Lord took her home. She is now having a great time being with her loved ones and friends who have gone on before. She is free of pain and has no more sickness. Someday, when our Lord takes us who have asked him to forgive us of our sins and take him as our Lord and Savior, we will be together forever. Carol is survived by her brother, Keldon Gross, and wife, Bonnie of Halfway; and a stepdaughter, Carol Moseley and stepson, Kenneth Moseley, both of Portland, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Moseley, and parents, Clifford and Marjorie Gross. Carol’s brother Keldon wants to thank our cousins, Tom, Dick and his wife, Janie and stepdaughter, Carol for all the help and many things that they did for her. Thanks to my sons, Kelvin and his wife, Carol, and son Clifford for all they did. Last but not least her church families, both here and in Portland, for all the help and support that was given to us, and as sis would always say, “God bless you all.” Arrangements and family served by Tami's Pine Valley Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
