Barbara Wood, 67 of Baker City died on July 21, 2014 after a ten year struggle with Cancer. A private memorial will be held in Hawaii at a later time.
Barbara was born May 16, 1947 to Olen Wayne Prosser and Mildred L. McKibben Prosser in Honolulu, Hawaii. Barbara spent her life helping others as an educator and she had a passion for learning that was held until the end. She attended universities in Missouri, Idaho, Colorado, and Oregon and received several graduate degrees. Barbara taught in the U.S. Military Schools over seas and in public schools in Missouri, Nebraska, Idaho and finally as a teacher of the visually impaired in Eastern Oregon. In her last years, after she could no longer work, she searched all available knowledge in an effort to beat cancer.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Marvin, brother-in-law Bill, Sister-in-law Bernie, nieces and close friends in Idaho, Arizona, Oregon and around the world.
Our hearts are broken with her passing but respect and loving memories will remain.
