Marilyn Nelle Loverin, 87, of Hereford, Oregon died July 1, 2014 at St. Alphonsus Medical Center. Her small graveside service was at 9:00 A.M. July 4, 2014 at the Unity Cemetery. Lynn Shumway officiated. Marilyn Johnson was born at Burbank California on August 18, 1926 to Talma Galen Johnson and Freda Ines Clark Johnson. While growing up in Exeter, California she became an accomplished horsewoman competing and winning numerous horse shows. At a young age, she was employed at Griffith Park, outside Los Angeles as a riding instructor. She have lessons to many of the locals including Diane Disney, daughter of Walt Disney. After graduating high school in 1944 she went on to attend the University of Arizona School of Agriculture, studying animal husbandry. In late 1940's she married Gus Diesslin and resided in Three Rivers, California and had two sons, Eric and Rod. The family's home site was named the Wranglers Roost, where she raised outstanding Holstein calves, chickens and eggs for resale. After the war on June 2, 1956 she married the love of her life, Wesley Ernest Loverin of Bakersfield, California. They lived in numerous locations in California and had four children, Lee, Wesley, Lynne and Beverly, before moving to Enterprise, Oregon and then to Hereford, Oregon in 1978. they began the Loverin Ranch where they worked together and both enjoy the the summers they spent together on the Forrest Service permit tending to the cattle herd. Besides her love of cattle, horses, dogs and chickens, she was a devoted sheep producer. During the years, she provided numerous lambs for 4-H projects. Survivors include her sister Elaine Hart of Three Rivers, California, sons, Rod Diesslin and his wife Chris of Clovis, California, Lee Loverin and his wife Krisetta of Cottonwood, California and daughters Beverly Loverin of Springfield, Tennessee and Lynne Loverin of Hereford, Oregon, grandchildren Justin and Kurt Diesslin, Kaytlin, Casey and Kristen Loverin of California and Justine Loverin of Tennessee and Jackie, Jordan and Johnny Owens of Hereford, Oregon and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins of the Loverin-Britten family of California. She was preceded in death by her parents, two nephews and two sons, Eric and Wesley and her husband Wes Loverin.
