Diana Barber, age 67 of Baker City, died December 10, 2013 at St. Alphonsus Health Care Facility.
There will be a small service to bid farewell to Diane on June 7th at the Elkhorn Muzzle Loader Shooting range in Durkee Valley.
Diane was born September 27, 1948 in Humbolt Tennessee to Manuel Ray Talley and Mary Frances. She grew up in Tennessee and Ohio, until she moved to Baker in 1999 to take care of her ailing mother, and has been there ever since.
Diane, loved camping, fishing, hunting, anything to do with the outdoors with her dearest friend Tracy Humphries and her husband Steven. Which lead to her love and enjoyment of being a member of the Elkhorn Muzzle Loaders Club. She was the secretary and also score keeper for a couple years. Diane may not have been able to participate much but she was always willing to lend a helping hand and was happy to help in any way she could.
Diane was a devoted mother, friend and sibling. She loved working as a security guard back in Ohio and told many tales of her encounters on the job. She was proud of her Indian heritage and went by the name Halfbeed.
Survivors include three children, Tamie Sue Peck of Springfield, Tennessee, Frances Ann Barber of Phoenix, Arizona and Robert Willis Barber of Madison Ohio. Grandchildren, Kara Krynn, Racheal Marie, Nicole Kimberly, Katrina Teresa and Jessica Marie; Great grandchildren, Keagan, Ilse and Hannah; her siblings-Stephen Talley, Kenny Wright, Dolores Golden, and Vernon Evans.
She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother David Wright.
