Marne Baines, 64, died where she had wished, at her home on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Missouri Flat Grange on Cedar and Hughes Lane in Baker City. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception to be held immediately following the service at the Missouri Flat Grange. Diagnosed with 4th stage cancer November 9, 2012 Marne Baines passed on February 20, 2013 where she had wished. At home. Marne had gone under the care of hospice "Heart and Home" soon after her diagnosis. Marne was totally at peace. She had no fear of death. She saw death as an open door one went through and that door closed behind you. A devout Christian, Marne passed serenely into a joyous after life where there is no more sickness and death. Born February 19, 1949 in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Marne grew up in the south. Most of Marne's life was spent as a caregiver. In her early twenties Marne went on an adventure from Alabama to Nevada. She moved to Baker City, Oregon from Gardnerville, Nevada in 2002. Marne is survived by her husband Tom Baines of Baker City, Oregon. Her oldest son Ronald Skipper of Baker City, Oregon. Her youngest son Wade Skipper of Reno Nevada. A granddaughter Haley Skipper of Sparks, Nevada, grandson Elijah Skipper of Reno, Nevada. A Sister Jeanne Kirkland and family of Raleigh, North Carolina. Marne was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Solomon a nurse and her father Roy Solomon a World War II Veteran.
