ASKINS, LaRue

LaRue Askins passed away on March 26, 2014 at the age of 55. LaRue was born on May 23, 1958, at Los Angeles, Ca to Velia and James Lavern Quine. A Celebration of LaRue's Life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Hall in Summerville, Oregon. LaRue attended Redwood High School in Visalia, Ca were she was raised. She moved to Farmersville, Ca and later moved to La Grande, Oregon. LaRue worked for City of Farmersville in California and the State Department of Health Services in La Grande. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with her Grandchildren and Family. LaRue is survived by her husband Robert Askins and daughters, Melanie Montejano of Exeter, CA, Melissa Porras of La Grande, Oregon, sons Tyrone Askins of Kingsland, Georgia and Bobby Askins of La Grande, Oregon; Grandchildren Andy, Alonzo, Aaron & Aaleeya Montejano, Raymond & Erica Jimenez, Genessa & Joseph Porras and Liliana Evalyss Askins. Great Grandson Isaiah Montejano. The Family would like to thank the Community for all their support during her battle with Cancer which was deeply appreciated.
