On June 1, Joyce Aldrich (Busby) age 79, went to meet her mom, sister and daughter, waiting with their wings spread wide open. Joyce passed away at her home in Senora, Calif in the comfort of her family. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 14 at The Fraternal order of Eagles, 2935 H St., at 2 p.m. Joyce was born August 5, 1934 to Clarence and Myrtle Busby in Baker City, Ore. Her family lived in Rock Creek, Ore. where she graduated from North Powder High School in 1952 and then graduated from Beauty School in 1953. She settled in Baker City for the majority of her life where she raised her children. Once retired, she moved to Senora, Calif. in 2004 to take advantage of the warm weather and to enjoy retired life. She was a farmer, housewife, hairdresser, sister, mother, grandmother, 4H leader, and an inspiration to many youth. Joyce loved with everything she had in her. She was never short of laughs and smiles. She was always the first to help no matter the time or energy needed and stayed until the job was completed. Her favorite past times were playing cards, computer games, going to bingo, attending plays and concerts and enjoying time with her kids, grandkids and great grand kids. She dedicated a lot of her spare time to the youth through 4-H to help shape the leaders for tomorrow. Survivors include her sister, Jan McChesney; Daughters, Karla Price (John) and Karen Hensley; Sons, Ken McLaughlin (Karen) and Robert Aldrich; Son-in-law, Sam Carpenter Sr.; Grandchildren, Chrissy and Steven Connor, Sam Carpenter Jr., Mandi Hanifen, Chris Price, Adam and April Hensley, Kyla, Kassie and Kody McLaughlin, and Ashton Aldrich; Ten great grandchildren and several nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Aldrich; sister, Clarice Beach; daughter, Kim Carpenter and her beloved pet Gizmo. She will be missed by so many. To our mom, sister, aunt, grandma, great grandma, and friend, we all love you and will miss you very much. We will see you again. Make sure to save a place for us and watch down on us with all your love that you have given us when you walked this earth. God is lucky to have you doing his work along with the other angels that he has taken from our family all too soon. Because Joyce loved children and inspired leadership through 4-H, donations in her memory may be made to the 4-H Leaders association to continue her work. therconline.com 26 June 2014
