Del Richard Woodcock Jr., 82, of John Day, died Aug. 29 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Driskill Memorial Chapel in John Day.
Mr. Woodcock was born Jan. 16, 1930, in Klamath Falls, to Del and Wilma (Felmley) Woodcock. He graduated from Klamath Falls High School, and earned an associate’s degree.
From 1950-1953, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an engineering technician for the U.S. Forestry Service.
On Oct. 14, 1957, he married Zora Mae Dunnington in Weiser, Idaho. They later divorced but remained good friends.
He enjoyed flying, four-wheeling, fishing and walking his dogs. He was a member of the John Day Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his daughters, Cindy Pennell and Kelly Williamson, both of Pendleton, and Shelley Fischer of Canyon City; sons, Del Woodcock of Baker City and Lance Woodcock of John Day; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Zora in April 2012.
