Marlyn Riggs Enterprise, 1948-2014 Marlyn Allen Riggs, 66, of Enterprise, a former longtime Baker County resident, died Feb. 17, 2014, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, Wash., from complications of influenza/pneumonia. There was a celebration of his life Feb. 26, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Enterprise. Marlyn was born on Jan. 25, 1948, at Richland, Ore., to Fred and Jennie Ashby Riggs. He had a twin sister, Merrilyn Seal, and a younger brother, Frank Riggs. Marlyn was hired as a district field assistant in Baker County with the U.S. Department of Interior/U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, Animal Damage Control (ADC), on April 26, 1971. He transferred to Wallowa County in 1983. He made his home at Enterprise and continued his 43-year career with ADC until his death. He will always be remembered as “the Wallowa County Trapper,” his family said. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, early morning coffee with “the coffee crowd,” and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his other, Jennie Jean Riggs. Survivors include his father, Fred Leroy Riggs of Richland; twin sister and brother-in-law, Richard and Merrilyn Seal of Halfway; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Roseanne Riggs of Richland; son and daughter-in-law, Coy and Jody Riggs of Enterprise; son, Wade Riggs, of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Wayne Marlin of Huntington; and grandchildren, Karlee and Hayley Riggs, Robert Blake and Makaela Wiley and Devin Merritt.
