bluemountaineagle.com 19 Feb 2013 BAKER CITY – Millie Ilene Butler, 76, of Baker City, died Feb. 11 at St. Alphonsus Medical Center. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Baker City. Wally Muzzy and Jerry Sheets of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate. Friends may join the family for a reception at Coles Tribute Center following the services. Mrs. Butler was born May 4, 1936, in Baker City, to Frank Avery “Dick” and Hilda Dorothy (Jones) McCumber. She attended high school in Mt. Vernon. On Oct. 25, 1953, she married Floyd Lee Hickerson in Winnemucca, Nev. On July 1, 2004, she married Robert Lee Butler in Hillsboro. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Beaver State Dental and Terry Trailer, retiring on Sept. 1, 2004. She enjoyed horseback and bicycle riding, mushrooming in the mountains, huckleberry picking, and loving her dog Jake. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was a breast cancer survivor. Survivors include her husband, Bob Butler of Baker City; sons, Fain (Darla) Hickerson of Coos Bay and Neil (Kathy Keller) Hickerson of Gresham; daughter, Theresa (Brent) German of La Grande; brothers, Roger (Jan) McCumber of Hillsboro, and Lyle (Linda) McCumber and Rob (Char) McCumber, both of Mt. Vernon; four stepdaughters, a stepson and their spouses; seven grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Hickerson; brother, Neil McCumber; and grandson, Sean Christopher.
