LEWIS, Darrell Lee


bluemountaineagle.com 12 Feb 2013 Darrell Lee Lewis, 55, died Jan. 29, at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville. The family will hold a celebration of life in the spring. Mr. Lewis was born June 6, 1957, in Prineville, to Janet Ingle-Hardin and Earl Lewis. He was raised in Monument, and graduated from Monument High School. For a short while, he lived in Springfield, before moving to Prineville. He worked in the logging industry for 25 years, including 20 as a timber faller with Stafford Logging, and 13 with Contact Lumber. He was a fun-loving man who always had a smile for anyone he knew. He enjoyed country music and any outdoor activity, including crabbing, hunting, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, woodcutting and going for walks with his dog, Buddy. He enjoyed being with friends and family most of all, and his children were the light of his life. Survivors include his mother, Janet Engle-Hardin; brother, Donald “Buddy” Lewis; sisters, Earlene Dillard and Marlene Lewis; children, Tim and Jessica Lewis, Melissa Baller and Tiffany Dyemartin; grandchildren, Kenzie, Owen, Caden, Garrett, Sydney and Sawyer; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Lewis.
