PFEIFER, Thomas J

bluemountaineagle.com 5 Feb 2013 Thomas J. Pfeifer, 61, died Jan. 10 at his Prairie City home. At his request, no services will be held. Mr. Pfeifer was born March 3, 1951, in Portland, the youngest of seven children to Jerry and Pearl Pfeifer. He married his wife Aletha in Portland, on April 12, 1969. They moved to Bates in August 1970, and lived in Grant County for 42 years. He worked for Edward Hines in Bates, John Day Lumber, Prairie Wood Products and Grant Western. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family. He retired in 2009 from Grant Western. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Aletha, of Prairie City; daughters, Tina (Shawn) Pryse of Ontario and Mary Jo (Creg) Talbott of Baker City; son, Tommy Pfeifer of Twin Falls, Idaho; grandchildren, Nathan, Erin, Matt, Ali, Tori, Kaci, Riley, Tara, Thomas and Shelby; brothers-in law, Bob and Ron; brother, Bill; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; two brothers; and son, Ricky.
