The Record-Courier 21 Sep 2012 Mary Grace Corner Fales Heilmeyer, 96, a resident of Baker City and long time resident of Eastern Oregon passed away at St. Alphonsus Care Center in Baker City, Oreg., on Aug. 31, 2012. Memorial services will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Baker City on Friday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Mary was born Nov. 8, 1915, in Colfax, Wash., to George Corner and Adah Carter. She married Archie Fales on Nov. 20, 1932, in Sweet Home, Ore., and in 1935 they moved to Eastern Oregon. Together they ran a dairy farm until they moved to Baker City in 1947. Mary and Archie were divorced in 1952 and in 1956, Mary moved to Pendleton where she worked in the woolen mill for 6 years. On May 15, 1959, Mary married Archie K. Heilmeyer. The couple moved to Dale, Ore., in 1963, then to Eureka, Calif., from 1966 to 1972 and then on to St. Marines, Idaho, where Mary worked as a senior services coordinator in Benoweh County until they retired in 1977. Following her retirement, Mary and Archie moved to Payette, Idaho in 1981 and Fruitland, Idaho, in 1989. Mary and Archie enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona and their summers in Fruitland, Idaho. Mary was an active member of the First Lutheran Church and she enjoyed fishing, traveling, crocheting, crafts, and reading. Mary is survived by five children: David Fales and wife Patty, daughter Judy Chinn and husband Charlie, daughter, Arcella Hall and husband Ken, step-daughter, Joan Hunsaker and husband Doug, and step-son, John (Butch) Heilmeyer and wife Vicki. Additionally, Mary is survived by 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands; Archie Fales and Archie Heilmeyer, sisters Dorothy Parker and Margaret Munts, brother Gordon Corner, and daughter Sharon Fales.
