The Record-Courier 1 Nov 2012 Ruby B. Young, 96, died Sept. 28, 2012, at Ashley Manor Care Center in Baker City, Ore. There will be a reception on Saturday Nov. 3, 2012, at Coles Tribute Center, Baker City, at 2 p.m. for family and friends. Ruby was born Nov. 18, 1915 in Howell County, Missouri to John and Bertha Sinclair. She was the oldest of 5 kids – Jack, Evelyn, Arlene and Margie. Ruby married Roy E. Young on Feb. 24, 1936, in Nebraska and they moved to Baker City in 1945 with their two children, Donna and Gary. Ruby worked at Holman Studio as a photograph developer and Crown Cleaners as a seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and embroidery as well as any activity that included her grandchildren. She was a member of the Dorcas Circle, First Lutheran Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her children Donna Nelson of Hines, Ore.; and Gary and wife Pat Young of Baker City, Ore.; her sisters Arlene and husband Bill Coleman of La Grande, Ore.; and Margie Toney of Haines, Ore.; her grandchildren Deni Casteel of Wilsonville, Ore.; Julie and husband Jim King and Tony and wife Bev Nelson of Hines, Ore.; Anne and husband Barry Nemec and Christopher and wife Amy Young of Baker City, Ore., and Craig and wife Leslie Young of Eugene, Ore.; 18 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her parents, brother Jack, sister Evelyn, and great-grandson, Daniel. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Dorcas Circle, the VFW Auxiliary or the Heart ‘n Home Hospice through Gray’s West & Co.
