Dwight Douglas Klaudt, 69, of Baker City died Nov. 9, 2012. No services are planned at this time.
Dwight was born to Milton and Margaret (Apley) Klaudt on Aug. 13, 1943 in North Dakota. His father was an officer in the United States Army and was able to take his family to his place of assignment. Doug spent his grade school years in Japan and his high school years in Germany. He served in the United States Navy, Special Forces during the Vietnam War. Upon leaving the Navy, he worked as a machinist and a telephone Lineman.
Doug was a member of the Baker Trap Club and has worked with Baker County’s Y-Hec program. He was duck hunting with two of his dearest friends, Nick Vowell and Molly, his golden lab, when he apparently suffered a heart attack.
Doug is survived by a son, Gunnar Klaudt and a grandson, Max Klaudt of Boise, Idaho, and his life partner, Joan Miller of Upper Bowen Valley, Baker County.
