Barbara Leslie (Winslow) Grover, 71, of Baker City, Ore., died Dec. 28, 2012, at Angel Wings Assisted Living in Baker City. She will be laid to rest with her father in Bend, Ore.
Barbara was born on March 27, 1941, at St. Charles Memorial Hospital in Bend, Ore., to Richard L. and Elizabeth D. (Vandersee) Winslow. She attended Bend High School and Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated in 1962. She was a Registered Nurse working for Bend Memorial Clinic, Emanual Hospital in Portland, Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis, Bend Hospital, Redmond Hospital, Madras Hospital, Gold Beach Hospital, Grants Pass Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital in Baker City, Ore.
Barbara married Gerald Floyd Grover on June 14, 1964, at the First Christian Church in Bend, Ore. Her hobbies include sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, quilting, scrapbooking, rubber stamping, card making, paper crafts of all types, tole painting, collecting craft books & magazines, ceramics and cake decorating. Barbara attended the First Christian Church in Baker City, Oregon.
Barb was an excellent cook (although she always said she didn’t like to). She was a perfectionist and very good at everything she tried. She was a great Mom, loving wife, and grandmother. She will leave a large empty hole in every hearth that loved her.
Barbara is survived by her husband Gerald (Jerry) F. Grover of Baker City, Oregon, daughters; Cheryl L. Armstrong of Olympia, Wash., Amy L. White and her husband Kenneth of Baker City, Ore., her sister Alberta L. Winslow of Philomath, Ore., and 7 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother James L. Winslow.
