bluemountaineagle.com 11 Dec 2012 PORTLAND – Christina White Adelhart, 88, formerly of Bates and John Day, died Nov. 30 in Portland. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m Saturday, Dec. 15, at Family Memorial Mortuary, 1304 East Powell Blvd., Gresham. Mrs. Adelhart was born May 20, 1924, in Baker, to Jeff and Mae Metzker. She attended high school in Baker. In 1942, she married Ed White in Weiser, Idaho, and following his death, married Marvin Adelhart in Portland in 1991. She lived in Bates for about 10 years, and John Day for 20. She worked at Sprouse-Reitz, at the Montgomery Wards store she owned with her then husband, Ed White, and for the U.S. Forest Service, where she retired in 1981. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Gilbert of Saratoga, Calif.; brother, Jeff Metzker of Vancouver, Wash.; daughter-in-law, Brenda White of Redmond; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four nieces who live in Prairie City. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed White and Marvin Adelhart; and her son, Michael “Pete” White.
