bluemountaineagle.com Nov 20, 2012 Eva Marie Shaffer, 82, of Mt. Vernon, died Nov. 14 at Blue Mountain Hospital. A graveside service was held Nov. 19 at Canyon City Cemetery. Mrs. Shaffer was born on Sept. 16, 1930, in Brea, Calif., to Scott and Irma (Phegley) Tremaine. Survivors include her sons Neil (Lisa) Shaffer of Mt. Vernon, Jeff Shaffer of Boise, Idaho, and Scott Shaffer of Mt. Vernon; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Shaffer; son William D. Shaffer; daughters Cheryl L. Johnson and daughter Annette D. Shaffer. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church through Driskill Memorial Chapel, 241 S. Canyon Blvd, John Day, OR, 97845.
