Death of Mrs. Mary Jane Hamilton The Sumpter miner, May 9, 1900 Mary Jane, wife of J. H. Hamilton, died at Hamilton, Grant county, Friday, May 4, aged seventy-two years. Deceased was borne in Decatur county, Indiana, april 7, 1822. She was one of a party that crossed the plains in 1852, and settled in Clackamas county, this state, where she resided until moving with her husband and family to Grant county in 1872, which has since been her home. She was respected and loved by all who knew her.
