Mrs. Carroll Passes
Mrs. J. N. Carroll died at the home of her half-sister, Mrs. C. J. Steelman, in Richland, at about 6:45 last Saturday evening, September 7th. The funeral service were held at the Methodist church at 10:30 Monday forenoon, Rev. J. M. Johnson preaching a most appropriate and impressive sermon.
Mrs. Carroll had not enjoyed good health for several years as a result of kidney trouble and was taken seriously ill about two weeks ago and was brought to Richland where every aid that medical attention and loving hands could give was administered but to no avail.
Stella Constance Lynch was born on Dec. 29, 1879, at Minerval Park, Arizona, and was the only child of Mrs. O. W. Decker by a former marriage. On March 7, 1907, at the residence of her grandmother, Mrs. M. J. Shelton in Dry Gulch District, with whom she had made her home for years, she was married to J. N. Carroll, who, with two sons, Verdon and Gerald, aged 10 and 9, survive.
For a number of years both previous to and after her marriage she was a resident of this community, but for the past few years has been a resident of the Sparta district. That she was loved and respected by many was made evident by the large crowd present at the last sad rites and the profuse floral offerings.
Besides the husband and two sons, the deceased leaves a mother, a grandmother, as well as a large number of other relatives, all of whom have the deepest sympathy of the community.
