Wanda Bess Wall, 90, died June 24 in Boise, Idaho. A funeral service was held June 28 at the United Methodist Church in John Day. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.
Mrs. Wall was born Dec. 4, 1921, in Okmulgee, Okla., to John and Pearl (Reed) Casey. She attended Sandy High School in Sandy, and beauty college in Clackamas.

On April 11, 1941, she married William A. Wall in Gresham. Together they raised two sons, Gale and Gary Wall.
She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, crossword puzzles, baking, working at the Methodist thrift shop in John Day. She also enjoyed her family, friends and grandchildren.
She was a beautician and business owner of Bill’s Mobile Station in Canyon City, and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, the Red Hatters and the Methodist Church. It was she and Ella Baucum who started the thrift shop in John Day.
One of her latest roles was this past June, as the 2012 grand marshal of the ’62 Days parade.
Survivors include her sons, Gale and Gary Wall; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wall; a brother, Wayne Casey; and other brothers- and sisters-in-law.
