Bluemountaineagle.com June 12, 2012 Margaret Ann Beamer Reddekopp, 79, of John Day, died May 29 at Valley View Assisted Living. A graveside service was held June 5 at Canyon City Cemetery. Rev. Eric Bartell officiated. Mrs. Reddekopp was born Aug. 26, 1932, in Cleveland, to Russell and Thelma Freeland. She attended Catholic school in Cleveland. She was a housewife, and manager of the Sunset Inn in John Day. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting; playing bingo, poker and lottery scratch-offs. She also enjoyed working, and volunteered at the senior center, the schools, and the John Day Elks Lodge, where she was a member. Survivors include her sons, Charles Givens of Ohio and Jesse Davis of North Carolina; daughters, DeAnn Beamer of Santa Clara. Calif., and Kelie Beamer of McMinnville; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy, in 1990; daughter, Karen Boone; brothers, Russell Freeland and Edward Freeland; and sister, Phylis Doremus.
